A total and complete abomination! The jacket says that Al Sarrantonio has won several awards -- he won't win any here!
A 200-page book with 61 chapters??? First indication that something was wrong.
Such a blatant and direct translation that he might as well included the camera angles and lighting instructions.
Two saving graces: 1) 50 cents went to the Brooklyn Public Library for this purchase.
2)No one else will ever take this book out again.




Five or six years later, I'm still bitter.

    For anyone finding this page because of a 2020 tweet: back in 2009 I was updating this blog with notes from a small, paper reading journal I'd been keeping years a few years earlier.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Halloween Rain, Golden, Holder, 1997 An episode of the show which I hadn't seen. Killer scarecrow that comes alive during the rains on Halloween. Samhain can see through the eyes of any pumpkin and move if it's on a scarecrow. Quick read. Should've been quicker. Mind candy. There's a line that I left out that says, "Cute line about coupe....", except that I can't read my own handwriting, nor remember what the cute line was actually about. I'm also not sure if this was actually an episode, or if it was my belief at the time that it was based on one particular episode and not based on the characters from the series. Ultimately, it was forgettable.

Big Bullet Monster Bomb: lost little things: a short story for mature readers by Adam Archer (2020) The Race by John Russo (2021) (Not a review, just some notes to help me remember the things I've read. But written this way because it's the Internet, and some people will stumble across this page.) I don't remember where I found these stories. I don't think it was reddit. It could've been on Facebook or Twitter. Nothing about the Bullet Bomb book was particularly geared toward mature readers, other than the cover showing a woman wearing rags that barely cover what they need to. It seems like a story set in a larger world that I haven't read but I have no idea of this is the case. It's post-apocalyptic and the last of the human race is slowly morphing into cratures.
